Stake Center Choir Concert

The North Las Vegas Stake Center Choir (of which I am a member) is having our annual fall concert entitled An Evening Of Pops on October 18, 2008. You all need to attend because I just found out today that I have a SOLO!!! Woohoo!!! I am singing the solo and the lead in a duet part in the song "When You Believe" from the movie Prince of Egypt. I think it begins at 7:00pm but you will need to be there a little early to get good seats, I recommend no later than 6:30. I know you all are dying to go...so just contact me or mom for more details.

HAIR

Luke just got his first haircut. Now, more than ever he looks like a little boy instead of a baby boy. No, it isnt perfect. What 9 month old will let you give him a haircut without a little wiggle here and there. But overall it went well. #4 on the clippers... 5 minutes later he was as cute as he ever was minus the scraggly hairs hanging in his forehead, over his ears, and down his neck. Be sure to complement him on his new look!

Ok, Ok, I actually have a minute to say something!!!!

We see and/or talk to each other so often this sometimes seems pointless but I realize our time to be so close in proximity to all of you (except Corinna and Charles) is very limited so I guess we need to practice now!

Good News first:

I'm grateful everything went well with Kim's wedding shower yesterday, that Charles and Corinna arrived in town safely and that our family party was fun--well, except for the morning/evening sickness Kelli was experiencing (yuck-sorry baby). We really missed having Heidi here with us though! We missed the fun and belly laughing she brings.

The missionaries showed up and we had PLENTY to share so they joined us. (We still have leftover steak and shrimp) Sorry Heidi that we can't ship you some!

We look forward to having our family together for Kim's wedding. Make sure your recommends are current and available so we can all be in the temple together once again. It will be interesting to see if we can actually be together with all the confusion of the wedding. There will be no luncheon afterwards so everyone can come to our house after the wedding for a bite to eat and rest before the reception.

Sad News: My Aunt Jeanie (Grandpa's only sister) has colon cancer and will be having surgery on Tuesday. I have a strong testimony of the power of prayer so I'm asking each of you to pray for her. Grandma is not sure how bad it is and if she will have to have chemo or not. Aunt Patsy (Grandma's oldest sister) had it too a few years ago. Sorry kids but now it's on both sides of my family! Rotten jeans!

Well, I'm feeling very rested and relaxed today for some reason. A calm before a storm?????

hey guys just wanted 2 let u know that we are planning on being home around the 21st or the 25th of june. and we r still leaving the 12th of july to head back 2 colorado. don't know if u guys r tracking it or not. but just keeping u guys informed.

This Summer

Hey all, just letting you know my summer schedule. I am leaving for Phoenix, AZ on Friday, May23rd for two weeks, returning on June 7th. I am off for a week (free babysitting) and probably going to make a day trip to Disneyland with my counselor friends. Then I have Flagstaff, AZ leaving June 15th for two weeks and then Thatcher ,AZ for one week. I will be home for about one day...for Kim's wedding and to see Corinna and Charles...and then it is off to Kirkland, OH for another week of EFY goodness. I am going to stay back east for a few extra days, in PA with Uncle Bernie's family and am going to fly home Wed July 16th. Then it is off to Cedar City, UT for two weeks on July 20th. My summer traveling will be through on August 2nd...whew...long summer.

NTC

Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to keep you all informed and updated to what is going on here. Charles left early this morning for NTC (national training center at Ft. Irwin, California). That is where he is going to be doing his training for Iraq. He has made it safely there and all is well. He is staying in a tent with ac. He says it is not to hot there and it is very windy. The rest of our company should be there by Friday and then they will collect their equipment and vehicles off the trains and get to work training. He will be gone for a month. So that means I am alone once again. As I hear from Charles, I will let you all know. Please keep us in your prayers. I find out on Friday afternoon if I am pregnant or not. I will let you all know once I do. I love you all.

Hey guys I'm back home. I shot a 886 out of 1000. That is superior, I was expecting a 900 or better, that is Distingquished. I leave again on monday for 10 days for TTXII(tank table). Well just wanted 2 keep u guys informed. Luv u all

Gunnery Update

Hey guys been at home for a couple of hours. So far I've shot 10 SABOT(Armor Piercing Fin Stabalizing Discarding Sabot-Tracer)(lawn darts), 10 HEAT(High Explosive Anti Tank)(bricks), through the course of a week and a half. I leave tomarrow morning around 4, and be out there for another week. I'll update you guys when I get back. I've been shooting alot of aggressive plywood targets, and plastic that look like people. And I've also got to shoot a shotgun round called a canister round. It contains 1,097 3/4 inch tunstin balls. It is like a buckshot but 120mm. Have any questions post them, I will answer when I'm home.

Dang that is so freakin sweet! I wish I could be there to hear tank go boom! When I was a junior my dad and I got invited to a red flag demonstration in the middle of Nevada and Pres Bush and his dad were there along the Senate Budget Committee. I see lots of planes go boom! But Zac never see tank go boom! Have freakin fun doing what every other testosterone producing man wishes he could do!

Gunnery

This week!

On wednesday i finally got a decent phone again. When we had Sprint refund us $30 for internet that was really just being used for texts (old phone had to access the internet to use texting) we discovered that we had been paying for insurance for my phone. so with a rediculous deductible we were able to replace my ohone cheaper that buying a new one by far. so long story short, i get receive and send text messages again! WOOT WOOT.

On Thursday, we sold the civic. it all happened so fast, eric got the car listed again and we received a couple of calls the first day. They came to check it out thursday and loved it and we got all the paperwork taken care of and title signed over and everything on thursday as well. So, it is done. we are now a one car family. It is a major relief financially and has helped to lower my stress levels a little bit. I am sad to see her go though, after all she was my car.

On thursday evening Luke rolled over from his back to his stomach. one second he was laying there playing on his mat (on his back) i looked away to do something they looked back at him again and he was almost entiresly on his tummy! i couldnt believe that little guy sneaking that in without the slightest of a peep.

The Super Bowl?!?!?!

The second official blog of the Gebs Family goes out to mom. Well mom Feb 3 is scheduled as your Sunday which is also known to the rest of the world as SuperBowl Sunday. I was wondering if we need to switch Sundays with my family so I can watch. Hope all is well and thank you for the g's!
